The Mission of Wild Chrysanthemum – God’s Love

One day, I dropped by my grandmother’s house and chatted with her. When she heard my groans of pain from my ongoing toothache, she said: “This year, I gathered a large bag of wild chrysanthemum flowers. They can be used for making tea. It is a kind of natural good medicine.” With the chrysanthemums, she made tea for me. As I drank the tea, she continued to explain the benefits of chrysanthemum flowers for our health. In addition, she took out a chrysanthemum pillow with delight, and told me that sleeping on it could improve vision and halt headaches. Then, as if she suddenly remembered something, she went into another room hurriedly. After a little while, she came back with a notebook and said smilingly, “This year, I indeed gained a lot from gathering chrysanthemum flowers. Not only did it benefit my body, but it also put me in a good mood. What’s more, I sang an inspired poem when I gathered chrysanthemum flowers. After I returned home, I wrote it down.” She then handed me the notebook.

Then I began to read the poem:

Picking Chrysanthemums

The fragrance of chrysanthemum fills the mountain air, I am busy gathering flowers with friends.

Enjoying the smell of nature and feeling refreshed, we walk across rivers and up mountains.

Pick Chrysanthemums to make nice tea, good for promoting tranquility and pleasing to the mind.

Bright yellow flowers cannot be belittled, they can improve our health and add to our longevity.

At that time, seeing the yellow chrysanthemum blooms in my cup, I was especially relaxed and happy. So I couldn’t help composing a poem then and there: Little little chrysanthemums, make tea pleasantly fragrant. Though tasting a bit bitter, it makes us refreshed, curing illness unconsciously.

Some people may ask: “Who is it that loves us so much, creating such a mountain of beautiful flowers which are pleasing to our eyes and good for our health?” I once had the same question. Afterward, I understood the mysteries from God’s words. God says, “God created this world, He created this mankind…. Only God consoles this mankind, and only God cares for this mankind night and day” (“God Presides Over the Fate of All Mankind”). “Among all things, whether it is animals, plants, or all kinds of grass, God also created some plants that are necessary to resolve harm or illness to the human body. … What do you do, for instance, if you get scalded accidentally by a flame or by hot water? Can you flush it with water? For instance, if you get a fever, catch a cold, suffer an injury from physical work, a stomach ailment from eating the wrong thing, or develop certain diseases due to living habits or emotional issues, such as vascular diseases, psychological conditions or diseases of the internal organs—there are corresponding plants to cure all of these. There are plants that improve blood circulation to remove stagnation, relieve pain, stanch bleeding, provide anesthesia, help people recover normal skin, eliminate blood stasis in the body, and eliminate toxins from the body. In short, they can all be used in daily life. They are of use to people and have been prepared by God for the human body in case of need. Some of these were allowed by God to be inadvertently discovered by man, while others were discovered from certain special phenomena or by certain people prepared by God. Following their discovery, mankind would pass them down, and then many people would know about them. This way, God’s creation of these plants has value and meaning. … God worked in secret. When man had not yet come into this world, before coming into touch with this mankind, God had already created all of this. Everything He did was for the sake of mankind, for the sake of their survival, and for the consideration of mankind’s existence, so that mankind can live in this rich and plentiful material world God prepared for them, and so that they can live happily, not having to worry about food or clothes, and not lacking in anything” (“God Himself, the Unique VIII”). God’s words tell us that it is God that created everything in this world and provides for all things. God has planned and arranged carefully for our survival. That’s to say, all that are necessary for our survival, whether our daily necessities or the corresponding plants to cure our illness in body, have been prepared by God in advance and bestowed upon us freely. In the course of history, God allowed some people to inadvertently discover the uses of these plants. Then people passed them down from generation to generation. So these plants can be used for rooting out our illness to keep our health. Just like the little chrysanthemum flowers, they not only can be used for making tea to cure our toothache and improve our vision, but also can be stuffed into a pillow for us to relieve a headache. Hence, it can be seen that all kinds of plants created by God have their universal uses. When we catch a cold, have a fever, suffer an injury from physical work, or get burned or scalded, we can find corresponding plants created by God to cure our illness. Moreover, there are still many plants whose uses are unknown, yet they are beneficial to us. Just as a folk saying goes, “Every plant has medicinal value.” All of these are prepared by God to make us survive better. From this, we can clearly see that God’s love to us is exactly truest.

Our entire being came from God, and only God is concerned about us the most and loves us the most. Also, only God knows our needs the most. After God created man, He has always watched over and protected us, and supplied and led us in obscurity. Everything that God gives us is always the best. Only when we come before God and listen to God’s voice, can we enjoy more abundant provision from Him.
