On World Refugee Day, June 20, 2019, an international human rights conference titled The Long Arm of the Dragon: China’s Persecution of Believers at Home and Abroad was held in Seoul. Human rights experts and Chinese religious refugees described the CCP’s attempts to systematically eliminate religious beliefs, exposing the various tactics employed to ruthlessly pursue believers who have fled China, including thwarting their attempts to seek asylum overseas.

On March 4, 2019 members of various religious groups and human rights organizations held a press conference in the US Congress announcing the official establishment of the Coalition to Advance Religious Freedom in China (CARFC). The Coalition’s mission is to urge the US government to take strong action on Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) suppression of religious freedoms. For years, the issue of worsening human rights in China has drawn the international community's concerns and vigorous denouncement. On December 7, 2017, the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR), headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, held a news conference in Cologne on the Current Situation of Human Rights in China. Those invited to attend the forum were experts concerned about the human rights situation in China, representatives of persecuted groups in China, the press corps and so on. The Church of Almighty God, which has been subject to brutal suppression and persecution for years by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), has gained the understanding and support of increasingly more international organizations recently. At the press conference, Christians of The Church of Almighty God addressed the audience as victims of persecution. ISHR expressed that the purpose for convening the press conference was to inform the international press corps of the dire human rights situation in China currently, while stressing that China is the country with the most serious human rights violations in the world, and China’s ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party, has committed the most serious crimes against human rights in China.

Nine International NGOs Jointly Condemn the CCP's Persecution of The Church of Almighty God

On November 28, 2017, nine international non-governmental organizations, including Coordination of Associations and Individuals for Freedom of Conscience (CAP Freedom of Conscience), the Center for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR), and the European Interreligious Forum for Religious Freedom (EIFRF), jointly issued a statement condemning the CCP's efforts to attack and discredit The Church of Almighty God by using the media and swaying public opinion in South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions. The nine NGOs pointed out that "The fact that several articles against The Church of Almighty God appeared at the same time in different countries cannot be a coincidence. It is part of an effort by the Chinese regime to hide the fact that it violates the provisions of international conventions on religious liberty it has subscribed, something for which it keeps being condemned by international organizations." The NGOs also urged responsible media outlets to consult the existing academic literature on The Church of Almighty God, and to refrain from repeatedly reposting false news spread by the Chinese regime.

Since I was very young, my parents had often been publicly criticized on the stage, paraded through the streets, and so on because of believing in Jesus. I passed my childhood in the cold eyes and mockeries of the people in the village. In my childhood memories, the brothers and sisters who came to my home were all very kindhearted and genial. I never understood why such good people should be publicly criticized and paraded. In 2001, when I was twenty years old, my whole family accepted the end-time work of Almighty God. Later, I also personally experienced a nightmarish arrest and cruel tortures because of believing in God. Then I finally found the answer and solved the puzzle I had in my mind for years….
